About Me - Who Runs PokerSpoils.com?
This is where you would guess I would post some lame paragraph about this website and say things like, “We offer great poker bonus code and rakeback deals”. That is so lame and cheesy. It is a well-known fact that a player can find the same bonus on 1000 different sites. The same rakeback percentages can be obtained at hundreds of websites on the net. I don’t claim to be anything special or exclusive.
You won’t find much hype on this site. I’m over hype. Poker players are my friends, and my friends are poker players. I have no interest in cramming offers with a hundred exclamation points down anybody’s throats.
If you haven’t seen it on the home page, my name is Jonathan. I am a real person, and I am the one-man show behind the scenes here at PokerSpoils.com. I do my best to keep this site current with all the information you are looking for. I would love to hear any feedback or suggestions you might have for this site. You can get in touch by emailing me at john at pokerspoils.com Just replace at with @.
Here is a little background on myself. At the time of writing this I am 22 years old. I got into the poker business kind of by accident while playing on PartyPoker back in the day. I realized that I could offer friends bonuses and whatnot and earn a little money at the same time. Looking around at all the informational poker sites on the web I realized that there was a big void for quality, sincere, and non-hyped information.
Most sites don’t have much to offer about the game besides bonuses and sign up incentives. I strive to bring interesting content such as strategy and tips for poker as well as the occasional entertaining satire article. You’ll notice everything reads like it would if someone was talking to you. In my opinion that’s the way it should be. In the end, we are actual people offering our opinions and knowledge on the game to fellow players. We aren’t some greedy corporate suits looking to sell your presence to advertisers.
Eventually I would like to open a forum on this site for us to all communicate, but who needs another poker forum? There are already too many to keep up with. Instead you can sign up for the newsletter and participate in our regular tournaments. We have a fair share on Aced.com, which is currently my favorite site to play at. See you at the tables.
PS – My screen name on Aced is TaintStick.
Here is a picture of me and the gang playing a tourney at the new poker room at the Hard Rock in Vegas. I am on the far left in the grey shirt with the sunglasses hanging out of my shirt.
